Newk's, oh the memories...

I just wanted to give a shout-out to one of my college staples that has made it's way to the wonderful city of Austin—Newk's Express Cafe! I am not sure if this should be added to my "Reasons why I love Austin" list, or not, but I do know that it will forever be one of the reasons why I love Oxford, Mississippi. If you are an Ole Miss alum then you already know. You order at the counter and they bring you your food within minutes (sometimes a lot of minutes if it's a Sunday in Mississippi and you hit the non-college, church crowd-but regardless, it's worth the wait!) Their chicken salad is to DIE for, and their salads and thin crust pizzas really save the day. I went to the Austin location for the first time today and I felt like I was stepping back in time. Back to the good 'ole days where we would stroll into Newk's on a Sunday, wearing our sweats, our day-old makeup, and maybe having had a few too many the night before, and letting Newk's literally bring us back to life. (Rebels-I know you know what I am talking about. Everyone else-I know that you ALL have a place like this!) And that's not all! You get to take your oversized plastic cup home with you! And trust me, if you could see the collection of these cups I have in my cabinet then that would be all the confirmation you would need. Go, give it a try. Love it or hate it, I don't care, but it will always be one of the places that holds many memories for me. And thanks to all those cups-will stay with me forever!
